The Role of Niobium in the Metallization Process of Cemented Carbide

Tungsten-base alloys have high hardness, relatively low strength and low fracture toughness.

In order to improve the strength of cemented carbide, the following methods are usually adopted:

W and Ti, V, Ta, Re and other alloy elements are alloy or prepared into a tungsten-based high-entropy alloy; that toughness is improved through the control of ultrafine crystal and nanocrystalline microstructures; and oxide particle (niobium oxide) or TiC are introduced into the tungsten-based material for dispersion strengthening, and then fiber reinforcement is carried out for toughening.

In these methods, niobium oxide dispersion strengthens the grain structure, which has obvious effect on improving the high-temperature strength of tungsten and the recrystallization of internal crystal structure, strengthening the high-temperature performance of cemented carbide and improving the strength of cemented carbide.

In this way, the physical properties of raw material for Hpgr Hard Alloy Pins, VSI Rotor Tip set, Carbide Tip, Carbide Cutting Tools can be inproved.
